Texel Air North America

737 freighter capacity, built for North America.

We are building a US all-cargo airline around the Boeing 737-800BCF, and working through FAA certification now. If you will need narrow-body freighter lift in North America, talk to us early.

Where we are

A new US Airline, built for excellence.

Starting an airline in the United States takes an FAA air carrier certificate, approved manuals, trained crews and aircraft. That is the work in front of us.

Certificate
FAA Part 121, supplemental

Part 121 is the FAA rule set for airlines. "Supplemental" covers on-demand flying, such as charters and all-cargo work, where the customer sets the schedule.

First aircraft type
Boeing 737-800BCF

A 737-800 converted by Boeing into a main-deck freighter. BCF stands for Boeing Converted Freighter.

The work
All-cargo flying

Charter and contract cargo flying for shippers, forwarders and carriers who need 737 capacity.

Plain status: Texel Air North America does not yet hold an FAA air carrier certificate. We do not operate flights or sell air transportation today. We welcome early conversations.

The aircraft

The 737-800BCF. Big door, full main deck.

The 737-800BCF is widely used by express and e-commerce carriers. It is the aircraft Texel Air brought to the Middle East in 2022, and the first type in our North American plan.

Also planned

Boeing 737-700 FlexCombi

Cargo and people on the same flight. Texel Air's FlexCombi carries 24 seats with six pallets, 12 seats with seven pallets, or eight pallets as a full freighter. Texel Air developed it with PEMCO of Tampa, Florida, and the FAA certified it for commercial operations in 2020.

What we will fly

Work the 737 freighter does well.

These are the kinds of flying we are building toward. All of it starts once the FAA certificate is in hand.

All-cargo charter

On-demand freighter flights where you set the date, the route and the load.

ACMI and CMI

ACMI means we supply the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance, and fly your network to your schedule. CMI is the same arrangement using your aircraft.

Express and e-commerce

The 737-800BCF is a common choice for overnight express and parcel networks that need a right-sized freighter.

Engines and outsize loads

Texel Air built engine transport stands to carry CFM-56 engines on its 737 fleet. The 800BCF data sheet includes layouts with an engine stand on the main deck.

The Texel Air name

A name with a 737 track record.

Texel Air North America shares the Texel Air name with Texel Air in Bahrain and Texel Air Australasia in New Zealand. Here is part of that record, as Texel Air publishes it.

  1. 2013

Texel Air is established in Bahrain.

  2. 2014

Bahrain grants Texel Air its Aircraft Operators Certificate, BH-12, flying two 737-300 freighters.

  3. 2017

The 737-700 FlexCombi design wins Innovator of the Year at the Freight World Awards.

  4. 2020

The FAA certifies the 737-700 FlexCombi for commercial operations.

  5. 2022

Texel Air launches the Middle East's first 737-800BCF.

  6. 2023

Texel Air Australasia launches in New Zealand with a 737-800BCF.

  7. 2024

Texel Air Australasia gains EDTO120 approval and flies the world's first EDTO120 flight on a 737-800BCF. EDTO is the approval to fly twin-engine aircraft on routes farther from a diversion airport.
